Man, I hate feeling sick. I hate hate hate it. I feel so useless when I get sick, no creativity, no clear thinking, no writing or researching. I just hate it. So when I start to feel good again, I’m like, Yea Baby. Let’s go.
I love ideas, mine, yours and a lot of others. I love the ones I love, and I love the ones I don’t love. I don’t like that latter group, but I love them because it gives me a chance to hear and relate to others that I disagree with. I usually tend to learn from and lean toward those I agree with, but I make some room for those that I don’t. They are just ideas after all.
I am still smacked in the face by the ideas of Christ, those that originate with Him and those that are derived from Him. Here is one that gently assaulted me this morning.
“In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him… Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another” (1Jn 4:9, 11).
It hasn’t happened yet, I hope someday that it will, that someone will come up to me and ask me why I talk so much about Christ, what’s the big deal, why do you make so much of this Divine Human, Visible God on earth. So someone please, take that role on and I will talk about this Christ that used His life as an everlasting model of life and an encouragement to live our lives by His love.
Yea, that’s what I would do. In the meantime, that’s my goal, to live in that love.
