Eremition

Eremition is the practice of withdrawing from others to find solitude and renewal. It can also refer to a type of monasticism that prioritizes religious experience over social life.

The act of gradually fading from the lives of others, not out of malice but a desire for solitude or renewal.

This is a new word to me. I like it. I think I’ll make it a part of my life, not overwhelmingly but a part. Version one, from Qiana Rae is a bit more to my liking. I’m feeling a bit monastic these days and my religious experience grows ever more dear to me and my family as well.

I didn’t know this when I retired. In fact, I’m not sure I actually retired, but made some simple but profound changes in output or production. I’m glad for this period of monasticism. If life has chapters in it, this is a pretty good one.

I have always been what’s next, what are we going to do now, lets get after it. Not so much anymore. I’m much more apt to listen for the Plan and the Power that comes from God. Time to listen.
